Missions
At Immanuel we recognize Jesus’ mandate to make disciples of all nations. We recognize that this mandate calls for action both globally and locally. The mission of the church is highlighted in 2 Corinthians 5. As those who have been reconciled to God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we are now ambassadors of reconciliation to a lost and broken world. Immanuel is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by praying, sending, supporting, and planting all over the world.
Throughout the year we provide numerous opportunities for our people to leave home and “go” on mission. We want to be good stewards, financially and spiritually, of the resources that God has given us. We also strive to prepare our teams to show the unity in Christ and a heart of service to those we will meet. To achieve these goals, we ask all mission trip participants to make the following commitments:
- Actively participate in providing the funds for your trip, either through personal means or fundraising activities. If the full amount of funds is not raised before the trip, the team member is responsible for the remaining balance.
- Attend the first training meeting as well as at least 80% of subsequent training meetings and debrief sessions.
- Submit to the authority of the team leader(s), to serve with a spirit of humility, and to strive for biblical unity with your team and our national partners.
- Consistently seek to abide in Christ through daily time in the scriptures and prayer leading up to, during, and after the trip.
